To recover your GCU account password you will need to use the Glasgow Caledonian University IT systems.
All registered GCU Glasgow and GCU London students are automatically given access to Careerhub soon after they register on their course.
You simply need to use your usual GCU username and password to login via the student login button.
Please note that you must be successfully registered on a GCU Glasgow or London course in order for access to be granted. If you have not completed the official registration process for your course with Student Records, you will not be able to access the system. If you are unsure if you have successfully registered on your course, please contact studentrecords@gcu.ac.uk.
GCU Glasgow and GCU London students are eligible to use the service for 2 years following completion of your qualification.
At some point after you complete your studies, your Careerhub account will change from a student login to a graduate login to allow you to continue to use the service for a further 2 years after you complete your studies.
You will receive an email to your university email address when that happens to explain that your login method has changed and prompt you to change your password before logging in via the graduate login button.
This does not happen instantly after graduation. Please continue to login via the student login button using your usual GCU username and password until you receive an email to your GCU email address to tell you that your login method has changed.
After 2 years, your eligibility to use the service will end, and your Careerhub access will cease.
Withdrawn students are not eligible to use the service, and so access to the system is automatically removed.
If you return to study, your access to Careerhub should be reinstated. This relies on Student Records updating your student status to ‘current’. If you are a currently registered GCU Glasgow or GCU London student but your GCU username and password do not allow you to log in successfully, you should contact studentrecords@gcu.ac.uk and ask them to update your student status to ‘current’. This will then reinstate your access to Careerhub.
If Student Records confirm that your status is ‘current’ but you are still unable to log in, you should contact ithelp@gcu.ac.uk to inform them that you are a currently registered student but are unable to access Careerhub.
Most students have 1 student account. This is the account that is linked to their Careerhub account. PhD students have their normal student username and password which has an @caledonian.ac.uk email address attached to it and this is the account that will be used for your Careerhub access. PhD students will also have a PhD username and password which will have an @gcu.ac.uk email attached to it.
You may be unable to login if you have logged into your laptop or computer using your PhD credentials. As Careerhub is a single sign-on system it can tell which account you are using so if you are logged in to your PhD account, Careerhub will not recognize you. To access Careerhub you will need to ensure that you are logged into your laptop or computer using your student credentials and not your PhD credentials.
